DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PONY BASEBALL
ACKNOWLEDGES PERSONALITIES AND ATHLETES OF 2009
 
Pony Baseball of Dominican Republic acknowledged this Sunday, December 20, personalities and athletes. Among the personalities recognized were Dr. Manlio perez medina, first professional baseball player singer with the Yankees, and member of the national youngster baseball team that won the world champion ship of 1956, Dr. Leonardo Reynoso, President of San Cristobal sport union. Lic. Faustino Polinario, district attorney of san cristobal, the reports Teddy Brito and Julio Omar Delgadillo. The ingeriers Maritza Villafaña, Teofilo Isabel, Miguel Guzman and Others like Dr. Rafael Asencio and Lic. Edward Marte.
 
The were also recognized the most outstanding players Isaac Isabel, Randy Zapata, over all outstanding players of the year, aldo there were recognize Edgar Peñalo, Yoy Decena, Carlos Miguel Rivas, Eurispides Loperez, Mizael Martes, Jhoan Guzman and others.
As an acting host professor Eugenio Baez Pony Baseball/Softball Director congratulated the homenaged, for their great ehort.
 
And thank pony board members Denia Cuello, Felix Perdomo, Eurispides Lopez, Herman Martinez, Juana Sanata, Yeni Hernadez, Guillermo Piña, Pura Valentin, Kennia Rosario, Carmen Severino and others.
 
Eugenio Baez urged them to work harder to have a better success next year.
 

Dominicana Republic PONY Baseball and Softball Organizer Committee
 
The organizer committee of the national baseball competition classifier for the Caribbean series, which is going to be achieved in the island for Puerto Rico, from July 5th to the 19th 2009.

 

The event is going to be realized from the 3rd to the 7th of April in Cambita, San Cristóbal, Rep. Dom., were more than 480 athletes from the whole country organized in 5 divisions.

 

The president of the organized commitee, Lic. Fausto Pulinario, compromised to work with rest to make these events a success and to get the that the Dominican Republic children can attend to the international compromises, others who also belong to this committee are: Cesar Joel Garabito, Roberto Soto, Gregorio Pulinario, Rafael Valdez, Juana Santana, Félix Perdomo, Dennia Cuello, Yenny Hernandez, Guillermo Piña, Eurípides López, Maritza Villafaña and others.

Northern Caribbean Zone Appointments
In an effort to increase the presence of PONY Baseball & Softball in the Northern Caribbean Region, the following persons have been appointed to the position of sectional field director with responsibilities in the following areas:
 
1. Ms. Yvonne Lockhart – Responsible for the Development and Support of Local Leagues for Girls PONY Softball and the organization of Northern Caribbean Region Tournament Teams to participate in PONY National Softball Tournaments.
 
2. Mr. Bertram G. Murray – Responsible for the Development and Support of Local Leagues for Boys PONY Baseball
 
3. Mr. Terran Rodgers – Responsible for the Northern Caribbean Region Tournament teams to participate in the Caribbean Zone Tournaments for Boys Baseball
 

My responsibilities will be to oversee the activities of the sectional Directors and to coordinate Training and Resource initiatives with PONY Baseball and Softball Leaders.

These members bring many years of experience in baseball and softball to the region, and I am confident that we will make the impact necessary to see a consistent growth as it relates to PONY Baseball and Softball in the region moving forward.

The Teams’ Bio is as follows:
 
1. Ms. Yvonne Lockhart - She has been actively involved with the sport of Softball as a player, administrator and a coach since 1968. Her administrative experience is far reaching touching all aspects of softball. She held several positions within the local softball association and they are as follows:
 

A. Assistant secretary

B. Secretary

C. Assistant Treasurer

D. Vice President

E. Treasurer.

 
Yvonne also played a major role in her daughter’s development (Nerissa Lockhart) in softball where she obtained a 4 year Athletic Scholarship at Florida A&M (1997-2001). She is now playing a prominent role in the development of Pony Girls softball leagues in the city Freeport Bahamas.
 
Yvonne is presently an Accountant at Control Chemical in Freeport Bahamas
 
2. Mr. Bertram G. Murray- A husband of 16 years to Michelle and father of three boys (Brandon 15yrs, Byron 12yrs, Bertram 7yrs). Oldest son is currently a sophomore at Trinity Christian Academy in Lake Worth Florida. Bertram’s involvement with baseball goes back to his childhood participating in Little, Junior and Senior Leagues in the Bahamas. He has also had the opportunity to represent the Bahamas in little and senior league tournaments over the years. He has spent the past 10 years coaching various youth baseball leagues and more recently in the Junior Baseball League of Nassau (JBLN) in the 12 and under Division winning championships in 2 of the last 3 years.
 
He Graduated from Kentucky State University in 1986 with a BS degree in Computer Science, where he also was a starter for 4 years on the Thorobreads Baseball team as a middle infielder.

In 2003, he obtained a masters degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and is currently employed at Cititrust (Bahamas) Limited as VP - Deputy Global Technology Head.

 
3. Mr. Terran Rodgers He is married to the former Sherrell Mackey and has one Daughter Sierra Tera' Rodgers (16 months). His involvement with baseball goes back to his childhood participating in Little, Junior and Senior Leagues in the Bahamas. He has also had the opportunity to represent the Bahamas in the age groups, 8-12,13-14, 15-16,17-19 and senior league tournaments over the years. He has been involved with coaching youth baseball for about 15 years coaching different age groups ranging from 10 to 20 years of age. The past 3 years he has coached the 13-15 ages at the Junior Baseball League of Nassau (JBLN). Most recently an assistant coach for the Bahamas Team at the Pony World Series Colt Division.

He attended Tuskegee University (1988 -1990) in Tuskegee, Alabama. He was a starter for 3 years at third base, first base & middle relief. He transferred to Howard University 1990 - 1994 (Washington DC) and played in the 1991 season. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture 1994

 
He is presently an architect employed by the Ministry of Public Works & Transport. He is the Principle Partner of Architectural Design Solutions.
